SLAUGHTER MESSIAH (ENGLISH INTERVIEW)

Greetings Elliot, thank you for giving us this interview to our blog "Questões e Argumentos", it is an honor to interview you as being the year 2014 for the Slaughter Messiah band and what are your plans for the future?
Elliot: Hi! We're currently waiting for the release of our upcoming EP called "Putrid Invokation" that will be released through GoatKult Symphonies, from Germany. We have a lot of songs that are waiting to be recorded, for a split and an EP especially, and we're working right now on our first full length but I have no idea when it will be recorded 'cause we're all busy with side-projects and/or personal things. Anyway, I'm sure it will be a very great album...

What are the next band concerts? Leave dates for our readers.
Elliot: Our next concert will be in Germany, the 20th of December.

When can we expect new material from the band?
Elliot: Our new EP will be released in the near future, as I said here above.

How has been the reception of “B l a c k   S p e e d   T e r r o r " w o r l d w i d e ?
Elliot: Everyone seems to agree with one thing: we made a very cool record. If people liked "Black Speed Terror", they'll probably love "Putrid Invokation". 

 A s   h a s   b e e n   t h e   p a r t n e r s h i p   w i t h   D e m o n h o o d   P r o d u c t i o n s ?
Elliot: Our partnership with Demonhood Productions was... special. At the start, our EP was supposed to be released on 500 copies but only 300 copies were made. It took approximately a year and a half for our record to be released and it was pretty disappointing. Anyway, Einar seems to  be a nice guy and he contributed widely to our success.

W h a t   a r e   y o u r   m a i n   m u s i c a l   i n f l u e n c e s ? 
Elliot: When I was younger, I was really involved into the cliché speed/thrash scene, and N.W.O.B.H.M. as well... but the more I grow old, the more I listen to different things. When you don't evolve anymore, it's called stagnation, and stagnation leads you to recession. I'm bored about this metal friendship, and I presently think that black metal is our ultimate form of music. I never said other genres weren't important, you must respect them for what they accomplished, but we entered in a new era and black metal must change our mentalities and bring us the real knowledge and wisdom...

W h a t   b a n d s   a r e   y o u   c u r r e n t l y   h e a r i n g ? 

Elliot: I'm currently listening to late sixties proto-metal/rock bands as Coven and Aphrodite's Child for example, a lot of swedish death metal bands, really underground black metal, Lana Del Rey, Roy Orbison and Dragged into Sunlight, among others.

A b o u t   h i s   o t h e r   b a n d   t h e   H o r a c l e ,   h o w   a r e   t h i n g s   g o i n g ?   H a v e   a n y   p r e d i c t i o n   o f   a   n e w   ma t e r i a l ?
Elliot: They're working on a full length album, and I'm sure it will be one of the best records a belgian band ever recorded, without a single doubt.
